How the two tube systems recover core
A wireline double-tube barrel combines inner and outer systems. The outer tube carries the reaming shell and bit; the inner tube receives the core and is located by its head assembly. At the end of a run, the inner assembly and core are recovered by wireline through the rods, while the outer system remains downhole with the drill string.
